Films have always featured bikes and this will never stop. Fictional characters never had a limit and we hope they never do! Hence, we bring to you the list of fictional characters who owned the roads with motorcycles in movies.
After the advent of super-bikes, there’s no stopping them making a cameo here and there. Some of these bikes have been heavily modified to suit the film but there are a few that use the traditional beauties in their natural form.
Here are fictional characters who had one of the world’s best motorcycles in movies:
1. Ethan Hunt (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation) – BMW S1000RR
If the Limp Bizkit MI theme hasn’t started playing in your head yet, we don’t know how to fix you! Ethan Hunt is the living embodiment of cool – cool secret agent gadgets, cool teammates and super cool bikes. Ever since the birth of the first installment, he’s been on the road, cruising his ever so fabulous bikes, simultaneously increasing our heartbeat to another level!
Of all the 5 installments, the BMW S1000RR Motorcycle deemed fit to be featured here as its one of the most high-end motorcycles that BMW has ever manufactured. Even if the IMF drops down to dissolve, there’s nothing left to affect the mission! Your mission is to re-watch all the MI movies this weekend, should you choose to accept it.
2. Evelyn Salt (Salt) – 2009 Triumph Street Triple R
Salt is a name that will go down in the cinematic history for being a brilliant spy movie that was underrated by many. Angelina Jolie has perfectly portrayed a triple agent abandoned in another country with crazy bikes to utilize in a grand chase!
The 2009 Triumph Street Triple R has stolen all our hearts in a single rev. There’s something about these bikes in movies that gives us the goosebumps! With an insanely perfect 675cc engine, minimal engine braking and progressive clutch action, we were not surprised to see it in a spy movie!
3. Mikaela Banes (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) – 2009 Aprilia RS 125
Now, now, we know you’re cringing because Michael Bay’s Transformers made this cut but we’re going to restore your faith in Transformers. The 2009 Aprilia RS 125 is our best bet! This single cylinder, track-legal 2-stroke, electric starter sports bike gives an amazing experience altogether.
In Revenge of the Fallen, Mikaela jumps to Sam’s rescue on the Aprilia and accelerate away from the commotion around. Seeing such a sports bike on the screen definitely gave us the thrills!
4. Maverick aka Lt. Pete Mitchell – 1985 Kawasaki GPZ 900 R
Tom Cruise strikes back again! Top Gun is easily one of his best films ever to be created. Apart from the fighter aircrafts swishing around at Mach speed, aircraft carriers sailing through the ocean and a bit of emotional nostalgia, there is also a brief cameo by the 1985 Kawasaki GPZ 900R.
Other than the fact that when Tom Cruise rides a bike, the eyes don’t move around that much – we were stunned to find the make of this superbike. The next time you watch Top Gun, let us know if you were fast enough to spot it!
5. James Bond (Quantum of Solace) – Montesa Cota 4RT (modified)
Is there anything not baffling about James Bond? Yes, the actors who portray him in different films. They all get amaze techno-gizmos, travel from one corner of the world to another in a blink and almost always save the world!
But we did find something that needs a little more screen time than just Mr. Bond – the Montesa Cota 4RT (modified) motorcycle that got featured in the Quantum of Solace. This motorcycle is so antique that we were stunned to find it in a highly advanced film like QoS! But hey, we ain’t complaining. It’s Bond, James Bond.
6. Beatrix Kiddo (Kill Bill Vol. 1) – Kawasaki ZZR 250
On an extremely violent assassination streak, but extremely normal Quentin Tarantino film, Kill Bill features a beast of a superbike – the all amazing Kawasaki ZZR 250 in a bright yellow body color that’s sure to leave you in a trance!
Although you won’t have a window to breathe during the film, yes that’s how fast it goes, you will catch a glimpse of this bike during the early chapters of the film so keep your eyes open! It only appears on screen for a short period of time but oh boy, is it worth it!
